Goodbye baby

Well...we survived. I never want to see primer or black paint ever again. We got the rooms switched around in less than 48 hours. Mike and I are wiped out (completely and totally). We stayed up until two every morning touching up and trimming out after our friends helped us do the painting.

It went pretty smoothly and wasn't nearly as costly as I thought it was going to be. Basically, all we bought was paint and a few little clearance tchotchkies for P1's room. The rest of the stuff we had. It's amazing what a can of primer can do to old furniture. Some of it, too, was thinking of different ways to use stuff. All of P3's stuff was hand-me-down from her big sister. She was thrilled to have us paint a "pink princess room". Owen is the only one who's kind of left in a temporary lurch. We got rid of the crib/toddler bed and changing table and high chair. There's no more baby stuff in our house and that's a strange feeling after thirteen years of baby stuff. We're going to have to keep our eye out for a nice twin bed for him. So...to detractors who will decry the nature of P4's sleeping arrangements... hold your horses!! It's temporary. LOL

Lovely pictures. Say are you hiring that crew out for painting?

Hahaha...that's the exact same question my father asked when he dropped by. :)
They're a great group of young adults. They made a daunting task fun! All of them belong to the same church group that our nanny (Steph) once belonged to (or are her boyfriend's friends). We even had some great discussions about religion and theism while we were painting. Grace (P3), in fact, talked to one of them about HER thoughts about church and God. That was interesting. She's never really verbalized her feelings on the matter and when she did today, I was alerted to the fact that I need to start educating her on what it means to be a theist versus an atheist. There's someone at her school that's been asking her about church and this friend of Steph's was talking about "worship". Despite having different views, Jenn and I covered it pretty fairly. Just another sign that my little ones are growing up very fast.

Shock! Horror! you had a whole group of theists in the house.

What I want to know is did they drink your water ?(check out the Friendly Atheist if you don't get whatI am refering to).

Good to see young people from any organisation pitching in to help others in need.

Why does P3 sleep with a rail? Isn't she 6 or 7 years? Over-protective? I'm not being jerky it's just that it made me wonder. I think the room with Disney movie quotes is clever.
